Summer tree pastel painting with dappled light. "Reaching-Wistfully"
This is one in a series of pieces inspired by the death of a friend. Prompted by reading a passage in a book that he had given me, I painted art from the perspective of looking up into the trees. I felt that I needed to reach upward to reconnect with the person I had lost, and these paintings comforted me. "Reaching--Wistfully" is 36 x 24 inches and is framed in a wide, gold-leaf wooden frame. The glass used is museum glass, which has virtually no reflection and a UV protection.
