Insistence on Individuality
"Insistence on Individuality," shows my fascination with vibrant energy and dynamic forms. My goal was to incorporate an interplay of shapes and colors to create a sense of depth and movement, drawing you into a dance of light and shadow. Perhaps this is due to my classical ballet training and background.
The composition balances fluidity with structure, evoking an exploration of identity amid unity. My goal is that the painting invites contemplation, offering both visual delight and a reflection on individuality within uniformity.
Something Secret
Something Secret is an example of my efforts to make peace with the color pink. I enjoyed the ethereal quality of this abstract landscape of a water scene.
This painting is 12"x12" on a wooden panel and is ready to frame in the framing of your choice to work with your decor. I would be happy to advise you as to the appropriate framing for your perfect spot.
Wonderland
This painting was made during a painting excursion with the Washington Society of Landscape Painters in August at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in Washington, DC. It was a beautiful day and I wanted to capture the essence of the experience among my painting buddies, and all the visitors to the gardens to see the amazing lotus flowers.

Dazzle of Water
There is a beautiful pond not far from my house where I love to go and paint. It is quiet and peaceful which allows me to capture the same feelings. Dazzle of Water is a result of a gorgeous morning spent painting at "my pond."
This acrylic painting is 10"x 8" and is ready for you to frame to match your decor. I am happy to advise you as to the appropriate framing.
Flower Explosion
On a beautiful September morning I went to visit a fellow artist friend to paint in her backyard. I was struck by a planter that she had on her patio, and immediately got to work. Flower Explosion is the result of the pleasant time that we had together painting, chatting, and listening to music. A perfect morning, for sure.
This acrylic painting is 10"x10" and ready to be framed in a frame of your choosing. I will be happy to assist you in choosing an appropriate frame.

Something More
This painting was done while working in plein air. The title reflects my desire to change how I paint while working in nature. Rather than paint what I see, my aim is to capture the feeling the the landscape is giving me. On this day, there was a steady blast of noise being created by lawn equipment all around me, but I maintained my calm while focusing on a tree in my backyard.
Acrylic painting size: 10"x8" painted on canvas board and ready to frame to suit your taste. The framing shown is for illustration purposes only.

We Walk Together
This is another example of a painting that I made with no idea how wonderful it would look with another recently created piece entitled, "I Walk Enchanted." This 12"x12" acrylic painting is framed in a white floater frame. The images show how you might choose to frame the artwork if white doesn't work for your decor.
Acrylic painting size: 12"x12"
Buoyed by Memories
This acrylic painting feels fun and lively to me. I painted it in an effort to make peace with the color pink, which is a color that I rarely use. I began recognizing that whenever I had pink incorporated in a painting, I painted over it. The challenge was on! I was determined to use pink and enjoy the process. It worked!
Insitu image is an illustration of the way the painting will look. Framing is black, but not exactly as shown.
Acrylic painting size: 12"x12"
Framed size: approximately 14"x14"
Let the Future In
AVAILABLE AT THE ZEBRA GALLERY
Another painting that evokes spring to me. Somehow this painting reminds me of early spring when the trees start to flower. This painting is an example of my more abstracted style. I am happy letting it be exactly what it is! The painting is framed in a wide black wooden frame. Styled image is an example of how the artwork would look framed.
Acrylic painting size: 12"x12"
Approximate framed size: 15"x15"
Entangled
"Entangled" is part of my new series entitled " Surface Tension." Each painting is inspired by my interest in peeling paint, distressed frescoes. This painting also explores my love of trees. This painting is framed in a contemporary black frame and will fit in any decor.

Temporal Landscape
This painting was originally intended to be a non-objective abstract, but my mind had different ideas, and a landscape muscled into the proceedings!
The piece is acrylic mounted to a wooden panel and ready to hang. It is a small piece (8.5"x8.5") and will brighten a small spot either on the wall or Designer Tip: This painting would look terrific on a table or shelf.
This Way #2
This painting is an example of a pastel piece where I was dipping my toes into abstraction. The colors and the painting are not realistic, but it is definitely representational. I love the vibrant colors and the bold shapes in this pastel piece which is framed in a wide black frame using museum glass. Museum glass is the best glass on the market, and provides virtually no reflection and a U/V protection.
Pastel painting size: 11"x11"
Framed size: Approximately 15"x15"
Among Friends
This pastel painting is inspired by my walks in the woods. I enjoy picturing trees as friends and it fascinates me to know that they actually do communicate with one another through their root systems. The colors of this piece are peaceful and the application of pastel is delicate which adds to the tranquil nature of the final painting.
The painting is framed using museum glass, which is the best glass that you can purchase. It has virtually no reflection and a u/v protection. The frame is a silver-leaf wide solid wooden frame.
Pastel painting size: 14"x11"
Framed size: 20"x17"
The Perfect Day #1
This acrylic painting was the first that I did on site at River Farm in Alexandria, Virginia. River Farm is a beautiful site on the Potomac River that was once owned by George Washington. The moment I got to the location, I was immediately interested in this little scene, so much so that I painted it twice. This acrylic painting is on a cradle panel and is ready to hang or place on a shelf.
Acrylic painting size: 8"x8"
A Day in Obidos
This painting was started as a demonstration for my students while teaching a workshop in Portugal.
It was inspired by a visit to the town of Obidos when my husband and I visited Portugal in 2017. When I spotted these pots of flowers I knew that a painting would likely be made in the future, not realizing that it would take 5 years to make the piece.
This oil painting is 8.5"x8.5" and is on paper mounted to wood. The framed image is for illustration purposes. However, it is ready to hang for a modern appearance on a wooden panel. Designer Tip: This painting would also add a spot of color to a table or shelf since the base is wide enough to sit nicely on a horizontal surface.
Magic Through the Trees
44This painting is a part of a new series exploring my reverence for trees. My concept here is to examine how much information I can leave out and still express how it feels to be among the branches and leaves during my walks in the woods. The framed image is for visualization purposes and not exact. This piece is framed in a wide black frame.
Acrylic painting size: 12"x12"
Approximate framed size: 16"x16"

This 12"x12," oil on wooden panel painting is ready to be framed and would brighten any spot in the home or office.

Shadow Play
I was fascinated with the tree growing in such a precarious way, and the shadows that that same tree cast on the pathway. The shadows reminded me a bit of spokes from a bicycle. This pastel painting is framed in a wide, silver-leaf wooden frame using museum glass which is the best glass available. Museum glass has virtually no reflection and a U/V protection.
Pastel painting size: 12"x9"
Framed size: 18"x15"
