Hollows in trees are fascinating. While on my walks, I like to imagine the animals that may have sought shelter in such cavities. This one seems a perfect place for birds to shelter during a storm.

This acrylic painting is on an antique book, but not just any book. The book in question is "On Drawing and Painting Trees," by Adrian Hill. The pages are filled with wonderful insight into the beauty of capturing trees in art. There are color plates throughout as well as black and white illustrations. This painting is perfect on a display easel, or you may hang the book on the wall with a special hand-painted rack.
