Insistence on Individuality
"Insistence on Individuality," shows my fascination with vibrant energy and dynamic forms. My goal was to incorporate an interplay of shapes and colors to create a sense of depth and movement, drawing you into a dance of light and shadow. Perhaps this is due to my classical ballet training and background.
The composition balances fluidity with structure, evoking an exploration of identity amid unity. My goal is that the painting invites contemplation, offering both visual delight and a reflection on individuality within uniformity.
The Tree Whisperer
"The Tree Whisperer," my new abstract painting captures the beauty of nature and light in a forest. It's 9.5"x7.5", made with acrylic on watercolor paper mounted to two wooden panels.
I wanted to depict sunlight filtering through leaves, offering a serene feeling for an abstracted landscape. This small piece, composed of two panels, reminds us to appreciate the beauty around us. "The Tree Whisperer" showcases the elegance and inspiration of the natural world.
Acrylic Painting Size: Approximately 9.5"x7.5" Since the painting was created as a diptych on two small panels the painting is ready to hang with included command strips. Designer Tip: This painting looks beautiful on a table or in shelves to add a splash of color.
On the Porch
Sold out
On the Porch Is a painting that was inspired by my desire to do more painting outdoors. I set up my flower pot on my porch and set up my easel as well! It was a beautiful day to be outside, and I captured the feeling of being with my flowers. True confessions. I am not a gardener, but I do love flowers and these came back from the cold of winter.
Acrylic painting size: 10"x 8," on canvas board, ready to frame. The framing shown is for illustration purposes.
Something More
This painting was done while working in plein air. The title reflects my desire to change how I paint while working in nature. Rather than paint what I see, my aim is to capture the feeling the the landscape is giving me. On this day, there was a steady blast of noise being created by lawn equipment all around me, but I maintained my calm while focusing on a tree in my backyard.
Acrylic painting size: 10"x8" painted on canvas board and ready to frame to suit your taste. The framing shown is for illustration purposes only.

“Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters and teach some of us more than what we could learn from books.” John Lubbock
My good fortune began growing up in the mountains. My father taught me to appreciate the hills surrounding us, and to appreciate nature. I am grateful more than I can say to have started my life looking out at the mountains every day.
This acrylic painting is on a cradled wooden panel and would look wonderful on a shelf, table, or hung on the wall.

I have been reading the classic novel “Rebecca” by Daphne du Maurier. In it, the author describes the English landscape in great visual detail. I think this painting was somewhat influenced by her words.
Honestly, I am not sure where this painting came from, and I love when something intuitive occurs like this. This acrylic painting is 12"x12" and was painted on a wooden panel. It is framed and ready to hang with a white, floater frame. The photos are examples of the piece framed in a gray frame.

Invitation to the Dance
This painting (36"x48," acrylic on canvas) was shear joy to work on. There are many layers of paint incorporated in this piece, which provided endless pleasure to manipulate and also creates visual interest from a distance and when you move closer to view the painting.
After studying ballet for close to 40 years, I often see trees as dancing figures which explains the title of this piece. While going on walks, I often marvel at the trees swaying in the breeze, and the dancing rhythms of the branches. This sentiment goes back decades to when I used to sit on the rocks, with a sketchbook or journal in hand, under the trees at the end of the street of my childhood home.
Acrylic on canvas painting size: 36"x48" on gallery wrap canvas with white sides.
Unscheduled Rhythms
This is another example of art that came about when I decided it was time to paint over an older painting. I LOVE doing that. Visitors to my studio are always shocked because they have often liked the older painting. Most of the time I still like the older painting as well, but it is time for me to let it go. This is because my work has led me in another direction. There is a freedom in making a decision, and just going for it, painting with abandon over a previous piece.

Moment in Childhood
When I have a painting that simply doesn't want to work, I don't fret (for long😉), instead I paint over it. This painting is an example of just that. I love the rough quality of this painting, and the way that it evokes the snow-covered afternoons of my youth.
I have a specific memory with my mother, and for some reason, that comes to mind when I look at this piece. My sister was working in an office not far from our home. It had been snowy and it was well after dark when she was to get off of work. Not wanting her to walk home alone in the snow and ice, my mother and I met her, and the three of us walked home together. It was then that my mother shared with me that she loved the sound of the snow crunching underfoot. I think of this experience whenever I hear that familiar sound. This painting was made on a cradle panel and is ready to hang in your home or office.

Intractable Wildness
After finding a painting that I did ten years ago, I realized that I wanted to make it brand new. I set out to paint something that was more in line with the style of work that I have been working on recently. I began by wildly painting away, hence the title of the painting. This oil painting is done on a cradle panel and is ready to hang in your home or office space to brighten your day.

Buoyed by Memories
This acrylic painting feels fun and lively to me. I painted it in an effort to make peace with the color pink, which is a color that I rarely use. I began recognizing that whenever I had pink incorporated in a painting, I painted over it. The challenge was on! I was determined to use pink and enjoy the process. It worked!

Anything's Possible Here
This is another abstracted landscape that started with lots of layers of acrylic paint. It's like a treasure hunt to look closely at the painting and see colors revealed just below the surface. I let my intuition guide me with these paintings. In this case, I challenged myself to use colors that I rarely use. It was fun to work with hues that I am not as comfortable with using. Making challenges like this for myself allows me to explore my art in ways that require even more intuitive thought when it comes to the colors I choose.
This painting is framed in a contemporary wide black frame. Framed image is an example of what could be done.

This painting went through lots and lots of changes. It wanted to be a mountain scene, and I was "somewhat" satisfied with it. One day, while working on another piece, I looked over at this one and experienced an "aha" moment and knew exactly what I wanted to do to make the painting stronger. That is one of my favorite things about making art. The solutions come to you unbidden, and it is like magic. This is the perfect piece for an area in your home or office that requires a bit of color.

Travel is always inspiring. In 2019 I was able to visit Peru. Having never seen the Andes in person, I was unprepared for the impact they had on me. Flying in to Cuzco, I was never so happy to have a window seat on a plane. Looking down on those mountains was mesmerizing because they appeared as if a higher power had taken the land and crushed it into impossible slopes. The colors and patterns that I saw inspired me as well. I am transported whenever I think of Peru which came to mind while working on this painting in acrylic on panel.
