Moment in Childhood
AVAILABLE AT THE ZEBRA GALLERY
When I have a painting that simply doesn't want to work, I don't fret (for long😉), instead I paint over it. This painting is an example of just that. I love the rough quality of this painting, and the way that it evokes the snow-covered afternoons of my youth.
I have a specific memory with my mother, and for some reason, that comes to mind when I look at this piece. My sister was working in an office not far from our home. It had been snowy and it was well after dark when she was to get off of work. Not wanting her to walk home alone in the snow and ice, my mother and I met her, and the three of us walked home together. It was then that my mother shared with me that she loved the sound of the snow crunching underfoot. I think of this experience whenever I hear that familiar sound. This painting was made on a cradle panel and is ready to hang in your home or office.
Oil/cold wax on panel painting size: 8"x8"
