A Day in Obidos
This painting was started as a demonstration for my students while teaching a workshop in Portugal.
It was inspired by a visit to the town of Obidos when my husband and I visited Portugal in 2017. When I spotted these pots of flowers I knew that a painting would likely be made in the future, not realizing that it would take 5 years to make the piece.
This oil painting is 8.5"x8.5" and is on paper mounted to wood. The framed image is for illustration purposes. However, it is ready to hang for a modern appearance on a wooden panel. Designer Tip: This painting would also add a spot of color to a table or shelf since the base is wide enough to sit nicely on a horizontal surface.
Three Reds #2
Sold out
This painting was inspired by a visit to Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia. I was on the lookout for very old trees in the state of Virginia, which prompted the visit to the cemetery. These locations are perfect for spotting old specimens. After driving into the driveway, I looked over to see trees that looked like redwoods. Sure enough, the tags on the trees indicated that I was right. California redwoods in Virginia. How lovely and amazing.
This oil painting was made on linen. The finished piece is framed in a wide gold leaf frame and is ready for hanging.

A Different Perspective
Sold out
There is a tree not far from my home that I have painted many, many times. In this painting, I decided to focus on what was in close proximity to "my" tree because I was fascinated with the patterns of light and dark in the composition. This pastel painting is framed and ready to hang.
Pastel painting size: 8"x8"
Framed size: 14"x14"
The Backyard
This pastel was made in plein air. It was very hot, and I wanted to play with color in a way that was clearly not what I was actually seeing. I had the best time watching the chipmunks scamper around the yard, and listen to the birds singing while painting. It was a beautiful experience. This pastel painting is ready for framing.
Unframed pastel painting: 9x7.5 inches
Shadows of Another Time #2
Small pastel painting of snow.
Pastel painting size:8x8 inches
Framed size: 14x14
Framed in a black wooden plein air style frame. Glazed with museum glass which is the finest glass on the market. It has almost no reflection and a UV protection.
The Loner
This oil painting was inspired by a gorgeous tree that I have painted multiple times. This painting is oil on canvas, framed in a black floater frame and is 20x20 inches. With the frame it is 21x21 inches in size.
Among Friends
This pastel painting is inspired by my walks in the woods. I enjoy picturing trees as friends and it fascinates me to know that they actually do communicate with one another through their root systems. The colors of this piece are peaceful and the application of pastel is delicate which adds to the tranquil nature of the final painting.
The painting is framed using museum glass, which is the best glass that you can purchase. It has virtually no reflection and a u/v protection. The frame is a silver-leaf wide solid wooden frame.
Pastel painting size: 14"x11"
Framed size: 20"x17"
