Traveling is one of life's great pleasures, and Ireland is a landscape painter's dream. When I travel with my husband (aka Terrific Tax Attorney), there is no time for making art. You see, he can't sit still so we are always on the go. Taking photographs isn't out of reach though. Here are some beautiful, inspiring photos to add some joy to your day. Let me know in the comments which photo is your favorite. I just may use it for resource for my next painting! The view from outside our hotel window in Kinsale. This one will be a pastel painting any day now. I get great inspiration when I travel. I don't know if I will ever utilize an idea from this fantastic window display in Dublin, but it sure was exciting to see it. Okay. The pubs! Need I say more? Not far from Kinsale is a gorgeous spot called Old Head. Love the reddish heather. So fortunate to visit with my fellow artist friend while there. This is a stunning spot on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry. That land masses in the distance are the Skellig Islands as seen from the Ring of Kerry. The Killarney National Park "Ladies View" is behind me with TTA (Terrific Tax Attorney). We were freezing. Ross Castle in the distance in Killarney National Park You know that I had to throw in a gorgeous tree, right? Isn't this something? No one lives here, but wow!

Thanks for responding Joyce. I loved visiting Old Head. I was with my friend from Ireland and a friend from Virginia. My husband was playing golf at the golf course there at the same time. It was a stunningly beautiful place.

I loved the last photo of country cottage. It reminds me of a golden 8 months we lived in a similar cottage in the countryside south of London when I was a teenager. The structure was over 200 years old and surrounded by orchards and open fields. I wanted to stay there forever. Thanks for bringing back that lovely memory.

Oh, what a wonderful memory. Happy that I could spark it for you with this picture. I had seen this cottage the day before, but it was FREEZING outside, and I was in a horse drawn carriage. Was so happy that I was able to return the next day to snap the pictures. Thanks for responding!

Hard to choose but I love the view of the Skellig Islands. The grass in the foreground looks as soft as velvet and the path is inviting. I have never been to Ireland but these pictures make me want to be there.

I love seeing all of these, and as for a painting, the most inspiring for me would be the Skellig Islands vista. It has such great patterns & composition!

Thanks for taking a look at some of my favorite things in Ireland. I LOVE that view of the Skellig Islands. I had been to Ireland 30 years ago, and visited the Ring of Kerry, but we hadn't gone to this particular area. So happy to have been able to go back and see it again.

These pictures from your trip are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing them with your fan base online! I agree that it's difficult to choose a favorite because each one has wonderful qualities. Yet I also think that as far as a painting is concerned, you cannot do much better than to make art out of the Skellig Islands scene--that one has a fantastic composition! The tree is amazing, too. And the charming cottage...too hard to choose just one. Love the peaceful scene with the sheep! And the pub with all the flags! All the other photos are very nice, too! It's great to see you enjoying your travels and to read your commentary of Ireland; thanks for all you do in inspiring us to notice the intriguing beauty around us. (P.S. I also enjoyed seeing your photos from other places recently as well)
